Middle Distillate Cold Flow Improver

 

ZX-P3-05 is a cold flow improver and pour point depressant for middle distillates and heating oils.

 

 

Olefin-vinyl acetate-copolymer in an aromatic solvent.

Dosage

In general, the dose rate of ZX-P3-05 ranges from 50 to 300 ppm; certain middle distillates may require dose rates up to 500 ppm in order to meet the set targets with regards to filterability (DIN EN 116) or pour point (ISO 3016).

The appropriate dosage will be determined by our Technical Services Team after full consideration of fuel conditions.

Blending

ZX-P3-05 blends perfectly with aromatics and fractions with high aromatics content. Before blending with fractions with high aliphatics content, tests are recommended.

ZX-P3-05 is virtually immiscible with water, acids, and aqueous lyes (20°C).

 

Handling and Storage

ZX-P3-05 is a flow improver which affects the growth of the paraffin crystals. The addition to middle distillates and light fuel oils requires fuel temperatures at least 10 degrees above the cloud point (ISO 3015).

ZX-P3-05 is particularly suitable whenever several additives need to be admixed, and the product has shown an increased efficiency during several diesel fuel filtration tests. At low outside temperatures, the product can become stiff in the drums. When being carefully heated up over the pour point and being homogenized, the product will be suitable again without any problems.

For storage in unheated tanks, we recommend dilution with middle distillates. The storage stability is 24 months in closed container.

ZX-P3-05 is available in heatable trucks, heatable tank containers, or 200L one-way drums.
