2.1 Method summary

Using gas chromatography, under appropriate chromatographic conditions, the gasified sample is separated by a chromatographic column and detected by a thermal conductivity detector (TCD). Quantification of minor components.

2.2 Instruments and reagents

2.2.1 Gas chromatograph: equipped with thermal conductivity detector (TCD), PLOT Q capillary chromatographic column, temperature-controllable gas sampling system, and quantitative loop 0.5mL. Sensitivity and stability meet GB/T 9722 standard requirements.

2.2.2 Chromatographic data processing system: chromatographic workstation.

2.2.3 Electric temperature controller: electric heating belt heating, which can control the temperature of the injection pipeline at 200±2°C.

2.2.4 Sampler: stainless steel double-valve liquefied petroleum gas sampler, which meets the requirements of SH/T 0233 standard, and the working pressure is not lower than 3.1MPa.

2.2.5 Hydrogen (or helium): purity ≥99.995%.

2.2.6 Standard sample: Prepared by a department with qualifications for standard preparation. The content of impurity components such as methanol, ethylene, propylene, methane, ethane, propane, carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, etc. in the standard sample should be close to that of the actual industrial production sample, with nitrogen (or hydrogen) as the balance gas. The uncertainty of the nominal value of each impurity component content shall not be greater than 3%.

 

The role of aerosol grade dimethyl ether:

From the perspective of dimethyl ether consumption, aerosol propellant is one of the main uses of dimethyl ether. Since the 1960s, aerosol products have been popular with consumers due to their unique packaging characteristics. In the past, a large number of aerosol products used chlorofluorocarbons as propellants. When they were used, they were all released into the atmosphere, causing serious damage to the atmospheric ozone layer, thereby affecting human health, animal and plant growth, and the earth's ecological environment. Therefore, all countries in the world are working hard to find substitutes for Erbauxin. Since 1988, my country has banned the use of chlorofluorocarbons (except medical supplies) as propellants in aerosols. Alternatives to chlorofluorocarbons now include LPG, DME, compressed gas (CO2, N2, N2O), hydrochlorofluorocarbons, hydrofluorocarbons and other substances. With its good performance in the aerosol industry, DME is gradually replacing other aerosols and becoming the main body of the fourth-generation propellant. It can also be used as an air freshener, insect repellent, foam caulk, streamers, and more.

 

Storage and transportation of aerosol grade dimethyl ether:

Store

Store in a cool, ventilated warehouse. Keep away from fire and heat sources. Storage temperature should not exceed 30°C. It should be stored separately from oxidants, acids, and halogens, and should not be mixed. Explosion-proof lighting and ventilation facilities are adopted. Prohibit the use of mechanical equipment and tools that are prone to sparks. The storage area should be equipped with leakage emergency treatment equipment.

 

Transportation

The safety cap on the steel cylinder must be worn when transported in steel cylinders. The steel cylinders are generally placed flat, and the bottle mouths should face the same direction, and cannot be crossed; the height should not exceed the vehicle's guardrail, and should be locked with a triangular wooden pad to prevent rolling. During transportation, the transport vehicle should be equipped with corresponding types and quantities of fire-fighting equipment. The exhaust pipe of the vehicle carrying this item must be equipped with a fire arresting device, and it is forbidden to use mechanical equipment and tools that are prone to sparks to load and unload. It is strictly forbidden to mix and transport with oxidants, acids, halogens, food chemicals, etc. In summer, it should be transported in the morning and evening to prevent sun exposure. Stay away from fire and heat sources during stopovers. When transporting by road, follow the prescribed route, and it is forbidden to stay in residential areas and densely populated areas. It is forbidden to slip when transporting by rail.
